Sadly there are so many tragic stories that need help and attention, but ours is now a story of miracles and hope. Somehow a diagnosis of two weeks to live has miraculously turned in to Roo making it to his 5th birthday. He is still thriving and loving life. Our hope is that he will continue on this path for many more years, but the truth is that mucopolysaccharidosis is a devastatingly cruel disease. Each day with Roo is a treasure and he’s here because of the help we receive financially from our friends. Fundraising annually for Roo’s birthday is a must for us because it’s impossible otherwise for us to afford the extensive care he requires. We’re ready, as always, to commit to the challenge of his care, we just need a helping hand to afford it all. He’s the happiest little munchkin with the most loving heart with a will to live that surpasses our understanding. We will continue fighting for as long as he shows us he wants to. My name is Roo! I am a magical purrmaid who was put on this earth to show that love conquers all! I was given weeks to live due to my rare diagnosis, which makes me a real live Purrmaid… my life expectancy is grim, but my mom thought I deserved a chance at life and most importantly deserved to have a life, no matter the length, filled with love!

My road may be broken, but had it been any other way I wouldn’t have found myself with the one person in the world who could give me the best care and more love than anyone could imagine. Her love and experience with special needs cats have me thriving! I may not be able to run around and play, but I get to be with my mom, my best friend, all day! We sew, talk, watch tv and chill together. Plus, I have the coolest little hoomans that I get to help with homework!!! Some people take many things for granted, but it’s the little things that hold the biggest spaces in your heart!

We had the honor of being featured on My Cat From Heaven! Jackson Galaxy visited our home to meet Arkadiy and Ariadne and to learn more about their perfect imperfections.
Sadly, we lost Arkadiy on September 2, 2020. Our big beautiful boy is gone.
I was holding him when he suddenly seized up and then he was just gone. I knew his prognosis was bad, but I thought I’d have more time to spend with him. My Arkadiy has been my friend, helper, teacher’s aid, and constant companion for 5 1/2 years. We are all completely devastated. Hug your babies tight and cherish all the little things.?•

Heaven gained a little angel whose name is Teagan. Teagan was one of the most inspirational cats that I ever had the pleasure of coming across. She taught everyone that it’s ok to look different and be different. She didn’t let anything stop her. She was truly triumphant and a blessing to everyone around her. Though she is not here physically she will always be in a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. She will never be forgotten and she will be truly missed, but I know Heaven gained a golden soul. Rest easy, Triumphant Teagan. We all miss you.

Roo’s health has improved since coming to live with us, but the fact is MPS is a fatal genetic disease and he will slowly begin to decline. He’s already outlived his initial life expectancy given at his first vet visit, but we’d love to visit specialists in internal medicine and cardiology. Although Roo’s energy has improved he has shown some recent signs of abdominal discomfort and a slight difference in his breathing. He has both appointments scheduled for this month on October 24th but we will never be able to afford them without your help. We understand that there is no miraculous cure for him, but we want to be sure Roo is kept as comfortable and happy as possible. He really does deserve this opportunity. Please help us give Roo a chance at living his best and most comfortable life in the short amount of time he has been given. We figure the entirety of the costs will be much greater than what we have originally created this campaign for, but we are in hopes of at least raising enough for the consultations and initial diagnostics to begin his more specified care. ❤️
